Simplicity is Good

I was reading a book for my son. It is the popular Peter and Jane book that existed since my childhood time. The sentences are short and clear and somewhat repetitive. The target readers are children so this is understandable. However, I find them a very good reading experience. The story itself is dull. There is no suspense or surprises. The storyline is completely linear. It is describing what Peter and Jane and their parents are doing. Occasionally there is description on other people and their dog, Pat. The sentence is so grammatically correct and short and precise. I found myself enjoying reading the book for the sake of reading. I don't really care about the story at all. The sentences are so descriptive and easy to understand that make them so enjoyable to read. I found that sentences can be good to read even when there is no great story behind it.
